About Phosalone 35% EC
Phosalone 35% EC is a broad-spectrum, non-systemic organophosphate insecticide and acaricide used to control sucking and chewing insects (caterpillars, beetles, mites, aphids) in agriculture. It acts via contact and stomach action, providing rapid knockdown effect, primarily for fruits, vegetables, and cotton. It functions by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, a critical enzyme in pests.
- Active Ingredient: Phosalone ( - Emulsifiable Concentrate).
- Chemical Group: Organophosphate.
- Mode of Action: Non-systemic, contact, and stomach action. It does not enter the plant system deeply but is absorbed by the cuticular layer.
- Target Pests: Effective against a wide range of insects: Spider mites, Aphids, Codling moth, Colorado potato beetle, Whiteflies, and various caterpillars.
- Target Crops: Widely used on pome/stone fruits (Apples, Pears, Plums), Citrus, Grapes, Potatoes, Cotton, and Ornamentals.
- Application: Generally applied as a spray. Common rates: 1.5 per thousand (for fruit trees) or 2-3 liters/hectare (field crops).
