About METALAXYL - 8% + MANCOZEB 64% WP
Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP is a high-performance, dual-action, broad-spectrum fungicide combining systemic and contact action to protect crops from oomycete fungi. It is widely used for controlling Downy Mildew, Late Blight, and Damping Off in grapes, potatoes, tomatoes, and vegetables.
- Composition: Contains 8% w/w Metalaxyl (systemic) and 64% w/w Mancozeb (contact) in a Wettable Powder (WP) formulation.
- Mode of Action:
- Metalaxyl (Systemic): Rapidly absorbed by plant tissues, disrupting nucleic acid synthesis in fungi.
- Mancozeb (Contact): Protects the surface, inhibiting spore germination through multi-site action.
- Key Diseases Controlled: Downy Mildew (grapes, bajra), Late Blight (potato/tomato), Damping-off/Black Shank (tobacco), and White Rust.
- Crop Spectrum: Grapes, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Vegetables (Chilly, Eggplant), Tobacco, Pepper, and Pearl Millet.
- Dosage & Application: Generally 1.5 to 2 kg per hectare or 1.5 - 2 grams per liter of water (approx. 500g-1kg per acre).
