About Diuron 80 % WP

Diuron 80% WP is a broad-spectrum, systemic, and residual herbicide (wettable powder) used to control annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses in crops like sugarcane, cotton, and bananas. It acts by inhibiting photosynthesis, applied pre- or early post-emergence at rates of 0.751.6 kg/ha, commonly by direct spraying, with long-lasting control.

Mode of Action: Absorbed by the roots and foliage of germinating weeds, Diuron 80% WP blocks Photosystem II, inhibiting photosynthesis and causing chlorosis followed by necrosis.
Target Weeds: Effective against various grasses and broadleaf weeds, including Amaranthus spp, Digitaria sp, Portulaca oleracea, Cyperus iria (sedges), and Convolvulus spp.
Target Crops: Commonly used in sugarcane, cotton, banana, rubber, and citrus.
Application Method & Dosage:
- Dosage: Generally 0.75-1.5 kg active ingredient per hectare, or approx. 0.8-1.6 kg/acre depending on the crop and weed intensity.
- Application: Soil-directed spray is recommended to avoid touching the main crop foliage.
